Q: How much UV protection will a PlayShade canopy provide me?
The PlayShade shadecloth is strong and durable and will provide the highest levels of UV protection possible. With 10 bright and contemporary colours available, we can achieve up to an 87% UVR protection rating. These ratings also take into consideration indirect radiation that is reflected off surface materials, such as water, concrete, grass and sand.
Q: Will I need planning permission?
It is always best to check with you Local Authority or County Council and we always recommend you seek advice as early as possible in the process. We can provide you with any relevant drawings and/or visualisations if necessary, to support any planning application that is required.
Q: If I order today how long will it take to get my structure?
Lead-in times are typically 6 – 8 weeks from receipt of order.
Q: Is the fabric waterproof?
The high grade shadecloth will provide a level of protection in shower/light rain conditions, but not a torrential downpour! For a fully waterproof option, you can choose from our Signature Structures range of tensile fabric structures.
Q: What type of maintenance is required?
To retain the vitality and beauty of your PlayShade canopy, we recommend cleaning using a mild detergent solution followed by a thorough rinse with clean water. Alternatively, PlayShade can co-ordinate maintenance and cleaning packages for any structure within the range.
Q: Are PlayShade canopy’s permanent?
Yes. They either sit onto concrete foundations or are piled deep into the ground and are designed and engineered to be a permanent fixture. PlayShade offer a complete turn-key service to include everything from casting the foundations, installing the canopy and making good the remaining area.
Q: How long will it take to install the canopy?
This is dependant on you’re your specific site and conditions. If access is good the installation process can be as quick as one day.
If we have to cast foundations then please allow for two visits. The first visit to cast the foundations and the second (3-4 weeks later) to install the structure and make good.

Q: What sort of post protection can PlayShade supply to protect small children?
PlayShade’s tailor-made protection padding wraps can be purchased as a set to fit any of the structures within the PlayShade range.
Consisting of durable padded foam panels wrapped inside a protective PVC envelope and finished with Playshade’s high strength durable shadecloth fabric, the panels are very easy to install, remove and store away.

Q: Will the fabric fade?
No, all fabrics are colourfast.
Q: How long will my PlayShade canopy last?
All PlayShade structures have a 12 month workmanship warrantee.
