World Cup Vuvu-venue!

It’s hard to compete with Vuvezela trumpets, but the internal saddlespan World Cup venue is making a big noise in central London.  Events company, Production Bureau, designed a stunning venue for their corporate client with a central feature of a 20m x 16m, 3-way ‘Saddlespan’ fabric canopy structure. Director, Mungo Delap, had not specified fabric on this scale before and had detailed performance criteria for the canopy including high levels of light translucency for imagery projection, interface with rigs for lighting and large flat screens and rapid installation requirements.  

When Mungo approached Fabric Architecture, he had already appointed framing company Prolyte to fabricate the supporting structure.  Our design team worked closely to ensure that our canopy model married perfectly with Prolyte’s frame design, and our installation crew completed the canopy fit-out well ahead of schedule. 

The combined resources and interplay of the three companies has resulted in an absolutely stunning venue!  Following the World Cup, the client will be making the venue available for commercial hire, which is sure to be in high demand.
