When Fabric Architecture were contacted at the end of 2008 by architects Chapman Taylor, they were looking for a tensile fabric canopy to cover a seating area at a children’s play area ajoining the Metro Centre in Gateshead.

On presenting a couple of options from the Signature Structure range of pre-designed and pre-engineered canopies, the client selected the impressive Sirocco 5m structure.

Manufactured with a grey powder coated steel framework and cream PVC fabric canopy, tying in with the surrounding building and play area, this striking structure was completed in May 2009 and now serves to keep parents sheltered whilst children play.
