Luas Line A1, Dublin

Overview

Fabric Architecture was approached by the Railway Procurement Agency in Dublin with what seemed to be an impossible task. Installing a massive 10 mast 55m x 18m Bespoke Inverse Conic over Belgard Tram Station on the Luas Line in a mere 48 hour window of time. The canopy would be made from Solar Glass Weave fabric and would cover the platform, providing the travellers with much needed coverage whilst on their commutes.

After months of planning, the installation team, the plant and the tools needed to do the job were all ready to go. The operation started on the morning of the12th of June and everything was completed 48 hours later as planned on the 14th. Minimal disruption was caused on site during the process as the job was done quickly and effectively.
