Halliwell Court Community Gardens, London, UK

Overview

Although the residents of Halliwell Court had access to communal gardens, they had become overgrown and neglected.  Following the positive approach by a group of neighbours in applying for local government funding to tidy up and significantly improve the gardens and with the help of award-winning garden designer, Andy Newman, a design was produced and agreed upon that included the Pow Wow Signature Structure by Fabric Architecture.

The structure was selected to cover a seating area within the gardens and it’s lightweight play-safe timber frame and blue shadenet canopy were perfect for a scheme utilising as many natural materials as possible.

The new communal garden is now a perfect place for those living in Halliwell Court to meet neighbours, relax and socialise.
