Etihad Stadium Fan Pavilion, Manchester, UK

Overview

BDP, Europe’s largest interdisciplinary design practice, approached Fabric Architecture in late May 2010 looking for 1,500 sqm of canopies to be installed at the Etihad Stadium for Manchester City Football Club. This installation would take place before the start of the 2010-11 Premiership season.

The project specified 2 large structures to run down either side of the concourse. These structures had to look unique and were designed in order to create a stunning entrance to the stadium. As well as looking eye catching, they were also playing a functional role by providing shelter for the new bar and café areas for the fans to enjoy.

Fabric Architecture worked hard in order to meet the needs and requirements of the client, and to ensure the structures were installed within the correct timeframe.

In addition to these large canopies, the site will be further enhanced by the addition of a Fabric Architecture stage cover.
