Analysis

As the size of canopy increases, so do the loads that will be applied to the building it is attached to.  Without the affect of wind or snow, these loads can be accurately worked out and suitable fixing locations established.

We can provide computer-generated shade plotting to assist in the design and installation of canopies, which are required to protect specific areas and personnel from solar heat or glare.
 

Manufacturing

Our in-house design team will produce all the necessary fabrication drawings for any supporting framework or cables and will generate the pattern for the fabric canopy.  Most of the specialist manufacturers we use are based locally which allows for complete quality control throughout the fabrication process.

Installation

Often internal fabric structures are installed at height, requiring specialist access equipment or, in certain circumstances, roped access.  Fabric Architecture installation engineers are all IPAF qualified in powered access operation and specialist riggers are all IRATA trained.  Smaller installations will utilise mobile scaffold towers, and again all crews are PASMA certified in the erection and use of this equipment.

Maintenance

• The maintenance of internal fabric structures is required once a year.  The build-up of dust is normally the only dirt to contend with, and this can easily be dislodged using a reversed vacuum ‘blower’ or leaf-blower. 
• All fixings and tensioning devices must be checked by a competent person. 
• Often a fabric structure will obscure a window that will also require cleaning or a ceiling duct that has to be accessed. 
• Temporary removal of the structure, whether partial or entirely, is very straightforward and can be incorporated into the design of the canopy and its fixings.
